One Piece Film Red and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 among the Highest grossing films at Japan’s Box Office in 2022

Japanese film website Eiga published a list of the top 10 domestic and international films with the highest box office for 2022. Out of the top five, four were anime movies this year.

One Piece Film: Red earned a whooping 18.78 billion yen ($141.6 Million) making it the highest-grossing film in the Japanese domestic market for 2022. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 which opened on December 24, 2021, also finds the second spot in the list with an astonishing 13.5 billion yen. This is due to the fact that the Japanese box office year is counted from December to the end of November.

The four anime films earned 52.36 billion yen, of which three have crossed the 10 Billion milestone.
