PVR Cinemas confirms Makoto Shinkai’s Suzume no Tojimari for Indian Theatres

PVR Cinemas has confirmed Makoto Shinkai’s Suzume (Suzume no Tojimari) film in India through their Twitter and Facebook this Sunday. The multiplex chain has yet to confirm the release date and locations.

The film has already been a huge success in Japan. It opened at #1 on November 11, 2022 and sold 1.33 million tickets earning 1.88 billion yen (about US$13.49 million) in its first three days.

Suzume no Tojimari follows a 17-year-old girl named Suzume who helps a traveling young man to close mysterious doors which are known to cause disasters all over Japan.

Suzume has been praised by critics, and according to PVR, they will continue to bring more Anime films to Indian Cinemas in the near future.
