Jujutsu Kaisen‘s presence in India began with the theatrical release of Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie. Released on June 30, 2022, the film became one of the highest-grossing anime films of 2022 in India, earning ₹5.4 Crore in its opening weekend.

Sony Yay re-dubbed the show in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu for its television broadcast with a fresh voice cast different from the Crunchyroll dub. And we edit the show, dub the show, and adapt it for our local sensitivities. We are very cautious about what we are playing on the channel.”

In the same interview, he stated that the re-dubbing allowed them to tone down the extremes in the show, making it more relevant to Indian culture. He also mentioned that the channel plans to dub the show in Malayalam, Bangla, Kannada, and Marathi in the future.
