Similar Services in India
Anime Top Active follows a similar model to Airtel Anime Booth and Tata Play Anime Local, both of which originally launched in collaboration with Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) through its kids’ channel Sony YAY!. These services were later rebranded as Crunchyroll Anime Booth and Crunchyroll Anime Local after Crunchyroll entered the partnership.
In June 2025, Tata Play Anime Local was discontinued following a dispute between Sony India and Tata, while Airtel Anime Booth continued to operate. Despite the rebranding, programming on these services still largely features anime titles licensed and dubbed by Sony YAY! in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and other Indian regional languages.
Verdict
With Anime Top Active’s launch, Dish TV joins the growing list of DTH providers bringing curated anime content to Indian homes, further expanding the reach in regional languages.
