About Naruto Shippuden

Naruto Shippuden is the direct sequel to the original Naruto anime series, adapted from Masashi Kishimoto’s internationally acclaimed manga. Naruto Shippuden in India: A Brief History

Naruto Shippuden first aired in India on Animax from July 2013 to January 2014. The series, broadcast in Japanese with English subtitles, reached up to Episode 145—covering the Land of Rice Fields Investigation Mission Arc.

Despite its limited run, it built a dedicated fanbase. However, with Animax’s exit from Indian TV, the show disappeared from official platforms—remaining largely unavailable for years until its recent revival on Sony YAY with regional language dubs.

Naruto Shippuden on Sony YAY

After the conclusion of the original Naruto series on Sony YAY!, the channel started dubbing the sequel series Naruto Shippuden. The channel teased the sequel through their official social media handles (Instagram and Facebook) on March 12, 2024, hinting that the show will soon air on the channel.

Naruto Shippuden made its official return to Indian television through Sony YAY! in March 2024, marking the first time the series was dubbed in Indian languages.

The show was dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam, a contrast from the original Naruto series, which also received Telugu and Bangla dubs. However, from Season 11 onwards (Episode 221), Sony YAY! started airing the show in all 5 languages.

Season 11 premiered on 15th August 2025 (Episodes 221 Onwards) in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Bangla dubs.

This broadcast wave covered Episodes 221–241 from Season 11, adapting the Paradise Life on a Boat and Fourth Shinobi World War: Countdown – Part 2 arcs, after which the channel took a short break.

The show resumed broadcasting Season 15 from December 20, 2025, with Episode 322 (2nd Episode of Season 15) in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Bangla dubs.

After concluding Season 15 (Episode 348) on January 02, 2026, Sony YAY! began broadcasting Season 16 (Episode 349 onwards) on the same day. The show went on a break after Episode 360 aired, and Episode 361 will air in the next broadcast wave, starting with Season 17.

Season 17: The Fourth Great Ninja War: The Return of Team 7 (Upcoming)

Season 17 is expected to air in Summer 2026 on SonyYAY!. However, the official dates are yet to be announced.

Re-Runs

After airing the initial 220 episodes, Sony YAY! began airing re-runs of Naruto Shippuden alongside the original Naruto series. In April 2025, Sony YAY! launched the Crunchyroll Anime Block, a dedicated late-night anime segment. These reruns have since continued as part of the anime block’s lineup, broadcasting every night from 9:00 PM onwards.
