Shin-chan: Our Dinosaur Diary is a 2024 Japanese anime film and the 32nd theatrical entry in the long-running Crayon Shin-chan franchise. Directed by Shinobu Sasaki and produced by Shin-Ei Animation, the film blends comedy, heartfelt adventure, and emotional storytelling as Shinchan and his friends discover a mysterious baby dinosaur and set out to protect it.
The story follows Shinchan and the Kasukabe Defense Squad as they visit a newly opened dinosaur-themed amusement park in Tokyo — one that revives extinct creatures for visitors. Amid the excitement, Shinchan’s loyal dog Shiro forms an unexpected bond with a small dinosaur named Nana.
As their touching friendship deepens, secrets surface that could endanger the very existence of the park. The movie delivers a charming mix of laughter, wonder, and emotional depth, celebrating the innocence of childhood and the magic of unlikely friendships.
Indian Release
The film was released theatrically in Japan on August 9, 2024, and later debuted in Indian cinemas on May 9, 2025, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Japanese (with English subtitles). It is one of the few anime films to receive a pan-India theatrical release across multiple languages, highlighting the rising popularity of anime in the country.

The Indian release was handled by PVR INOX Pictures, who originally scheduled the film for May 1 (announced on March 1, 2025). The release was later rescheduled to May 9, as confirmed on March 31, 2025.
This also marks the second Shinchan movie to release theatrically in India, following Shinchan: Bungle in the Jungle (Crayon Shin-chan: Jungle That Invites Storm) which released in 2011 in Hindi dub.
