Crunchyroll Brings All 8 Makoto Shinkai Movies in India — Including Two New Hindi Dubs
All 8 Makoto Shinkai movies will Stream on Crunchyroll India from December 4 Onwards

Crunchyroll and Comix Wave Films India announced on November 18 that it will stream all eight Makoto Shinkai movies in India, marking the first time the director’s complete catalogue will be available on a single platform in the country. The rollout will begin on December 4 and includes two brand-new Hindi dubs premiering for the first time.

New Hindi Dubs Premiere

Two of Shinkai’s most popular modern films are receiving their first-ever Hindi dub releases on streaming:

• Your Name. (2016) – Hindi dub premiere
• Weathering With You (2019) – Hindi dub premiere

Additionally:

• Suzume (2022) – Hindi dub available (previously released in Indian theatres with Hindi audio)

These three headline titles will be the main highlight for Indian viewers, especially with Your Name and Weathering With You getting official Hindi dubs for the first time.

Classic Shinkai Films Available with Subtitles

Five earlier Makoto Shinkai films will be available in Japanese audio with English subtitles:

• Voices of a Distant Star (2002)
• The Place Promised in Our Early Days (2004)
• 5 Centimeters per Second (2007)
• Children Who Chase Lost Voices (2011)
• The Garden of Words (2013)

With this rollout, Crunchyroll becomes the first platform to offer Shinkai’s complete filmography in India, including multiple new Hindi dubs fans have been waiting years to watch.
