About Blue Lock

Blue Lock is a sports anime series based on the award-winning manga written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. The story begins after Japan’s national football team suffers a crushing defeat at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. In response, the Japanese Football Union launches a radical training program called “Blue Lock”—a prison-like facility designed to produce the world’s most egoistic and ruthless striker.

The series follows Yoichi Isagi, a high school forward who joins the program in hopes of becoming the best striker in the world. What follows is a high-stakes, psychological battle between hundreds of strikers, each fighting for their place at the top.

Known for its unique concept, intense character dynamics, and striking animation, Blue Lock quickly became a global sensation after its anime adaptation began airing in October 2022. The first season consists of 24 episodes, with a second season and a spin-off film (Episode Nagi) also greenlit following its success.

Blue Lock in India – Overview

Blue Lock gained widespread popularity among Indian anime fans thanks to multiple platform releases and regional dubs over time.

The series first became available in India via Crunchyroll, which released Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu dubs of Seasons 1 and 2 starting from June 12, 2024. This marked the anime’s initial introduction in Indian regional languages through official streaming.

In April 2025, a second version of regional dubs was launched on Anime Times, the anime-exclusive channel available as an add-on on Prime Video India. These included Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada dubs for Season 1, followed by Season 2 in May 2025. This release featured a different voice cast from the earlier Crunchyroll dub, offering a new localization.

Later in July 2025Blue Lock made its Indian television debut on Zee Café with a newer Hindi dub version. This TV-exclusive dub marked the third separate Hindi voice cast for the series, establishing Blue Lock as one of the rare anime titles in India to receive three distinct Hindi localizations across platforms.
