Background: Discontinuation in 2025
The service had been pulled from Tata Play in June 2025, shortly after the platform rebranded the offering from Anime Local to Crunchyroll Anime Local in May 2025. The abrupt shutdown had sparked speculation among fans, especially after promotional materials for the service were removed from social media.

Anime Catalogue Returns
With the service now restored, the same anime lineup appears to have returned on the platform. The channel continues to offer anime series with Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam audio.

Popular titles currently available include:
- Naruto
- Black Clover
- Kochikame
- Jujutsu Kaisen
- Sergeant Keroro

Other DTH Anime Services
While Tata Play’s anime offering had been unavailable for several months, Airtel Digital TV continued operating its own anime channel. The platform’s Crunchyroll Anime Booth (formerly known as Airtel Anime Booth) remained active during this period, continuing to provide anime content to subscribers.
Meanwhile, Dish TV India officially launched Anime Top Active on August 13, 2025, a similar service on its DTH platform offering anime titles in Hindi and Tamil.
Service Resumption
With the return of Anime Local on Tata Play, anime fans once again have access to a dedicated anime service featuring multiple language feeds and popular titles.
